And then… COVID-19 happened. Travel completely stopped, a year when I was going to be heading for vacation at Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, possibly heading to North Dakota for the first time, definitely heading out to sea for two oceanographic research cruises… instead, I made the smart and safe choice and stayed home. My 2021 year probably won’t look that much different, but it’s the least I can do to halt the spread of this devastating pandemic.
