    After leaving JOIDES Resolution, I knew I wanted to pull together a data visualization that not only documented the daily Sky/Cloud measurements, but also as a shout-out to the kindergarten teacher that turned her students into mini-scientists observing the world around them, and to the Second Mate from JR Expedition 390 who took the time to explain to the kids (and to me!) his daily weather observations and for responding to all the questions.

Happy #NationalQuiltingDay! I'm away at a conference and unable to do any quilting today 😢 but I can share my most recently-completed project.
Did anyone else stitch one of these in junior high/middle school? We all had to sew an animal pillow in 7th grade. And my Mom saved it. It was my second-ever sewing project! It’s too cute to throw away, right? 🪡 🧵
My neighbors are the BEST - scoring us a package of the elusive Raspberry Rally Girl Scout Cookies! (We haven’t been able to find them all season) These are currently going for ~$30/box on ebay. But these are NOT for sale! (and they will not be opened until I return from regional GSA next weekend, to ensure there will be some when I return).
#FrontDoorScience is back with mini-quilts that call attention to species given protection by the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Each month, I'm swapping out the quilts and the science information supporting them. I forgot to post February's quilts, calling attention to Emperor and African penguins.
